Ultimate Protection: TradeSmart Shooting Ear & Eye Protection Kit Review

When it comes to shooting safety, protecting both your hearing and vision is paramount. The TradeSmart Shooting Ear & Eye Protection Kit, Combined NRR 38 offers an all-in-one solution that caters to shooters of all levels, providing reliable protection without compromising comfort or convenience. This thoughtfully assembled kit combines passive earmuffs, foam earplugs, and impact-rated shooting glasses—all neatly packed into a sturdy hard case for easy transport and storage.

Key Features

• NRR 28 Passive Earmuffs
At the heart of this kit are the NRR 28-rated passive earmuffs, designed primarily for pistol, revolver, and rimfire shooting. The earmuffs feature six layers of noise-reducing material including anti-vibration foam and cushioned seals, which work together to block out harmful noise while minimizing discomfort. Their 1-inch deep cups prevent any ear pressure, making them comfortable to wear during extended shooting sessions.
• Combined NRR 38 with Foam Earplugs
For situations demanding extra hearing protection, the kit includes five pairs of NRR 33 foam earplugs. Using the standard +5 dB field rule, wearing both earmuffs and plugs together raises the combined noise reduction rating to an impressive NRR 38. This additional layer is ideal for very loud shooting environments or shooters with sensitive hearing.
• ANSI Z87.1+ Impact-Rated Shooting Glasses
The kit’s safety glasses provide ANSI Z87.1+ high-velocity impact protection, passing rigorous steel ball testing at 150 ft/s. UV400-rated lenses shield your eyes from sun glare, and special anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings maintain clear vision in any setting—whether bright outdoor fields or darker indoor ranges. Slim arm design helps ensure a comfortable fit with most headgear.
• Adjustable, Comfortable Fit for Teens and Adults
The earmuffs accommodate head sizes from 7.2 to 7.7 inches, making them suitable for teens aged 13 and up as well as adults. Soft vinyl ear cushions and a hand-stitched padded headband support comfort throughout long shooting sessions. The lightweight design—only 10.4 ounces—further reduces fatigue.
• Hard Case for Organization and Portability
Everything fits neatly inside a rugged hard case, protecting the gear and simplifying transportation. The earmuffs fold down compactly inside, with designated compartments for earplugs and glasses, ideal for keeping your range bag organized.
• Additional Features
The passive earmuffs don’t require batteries or electronics, meaning no worries about dead power mid-session or maintenance. The earmuffs also comfortably seal over standard prescription glasses. While the safety glasses do not fit over larger prescription frames, they do accommodate smaller ones for those who need it. Note that the included clip is designed for quick attachment to a pack or range hook, not for belt carrying.
• Long-Term Warranty
The full kit, including the hard case, is backed by a generous 10-year warranty, underscoring TradeSmart’s confidence in the product’s durability.
